Overview
As Senior Manager in Financial Crime Policy and Governance, you shape and maintain the firm’s AML, sanctions, ABC, tax evasion and anti-fraud standards within a global professional services setting. You lead policy horizon-scanning, risk assessments, and a firm-wide training programme to ensure robust controls and regulatory readiness. You’ll collaborate with regulators, the Nominated Officer, and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement. Responsibilities
- Own and update AML, sanctions, AB&C, tax evasion and anti-fraud standards and guidance reflecting applicable laws
- Lead horizon scanning and translate findings into policy updates communicated across the firm
- Contribute to Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment with input on inherent and residual risk
- Coordinate and manage firm-wide financial crime training including onboarding and refresher programmes
- Manage the financial crime governance committee secretariat and regulatory reporting support
- Provide specialist advice on AML, sanctions, tax evasion, fraud and competition law; support Nominated Officer on SAR matters
- Lead specific risk areas or initiatives and ensure cross-cover within the Function
Key requirements
- Significant experience developing and maintaining financial crime policy/governance in professional services or regulated environments
- Strong knowledge of UK AML, sanctions, anti-bribery and corruption, tax evasion and fraud legislation
- Experience designing and delivering financial crime training programs
- Stakeholder management and governance committee support experience
- Proficient in Excel and MI reporting tools; comfortable with AI tools like Claude
- Knowledge of SAR handling and liaison with NCA or FIUs (advantage)
- Engagement with industry/regulatory forums (advantage)
