Senior Software Engineer – Order Fulfilment

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will evolve the Order Management platform powering checkout-to-delivery experiences for millions of customers. You will shape architecture, improve integrations, and promote engineering excellence across cross-functional teams. Your work supports fast, reliable fulfilment and resilient systems in a large-scale retail environment. This role offers engagement with product, engineering, and fulfilment stakeholders to deliver impactful, scalable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve order management capabilities across checkout, fulfilment, returns, amendments, and cancellations
• Own features end-to-end including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support
• Shape the platform’s technical direction, focusing on architecture, automation, reliability, and security
• Promote clean, maintainable, well-tested code and engineering best practices
• Drive observability, monitoring, resilience, and operability; leverage Dynatrace for visibility and alerting
• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering, and Fulfilment stakeholders to solve complex business challenges and accelerate delivery
• Mentor engineers through coaching, knowledge sharing, code reviews, and technical guidance
• Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, tooling, and ways of working across the organization

Key requirements

• Senior software engineer with deep backend experience in complex enterprise environments
• Experience with IBM Sterling Order Management and large-scale ecommerce fulfilment operations
• Strong Java engineer with enterprise services, APIs, and distributed systems
• Focus on software quality, maintainability, testing, and long-term sustainability
• Experience with CI/CD, observability, production support, and operational excellence
• Ability to design resilient, recoverable, observable, and supportable systems
