Class Underwriter – Surety

Overview

In this role, you will own and develop a growing Surety portfolio within a specialist MGA. You’ll work to shape and scale the portfolio while supporting growth strategy and diversification. You will collaborate across markets to build broker relationships and secure profitable opportunities. The position offers autonomy and a direct impact on portfolio direction and performance. You’ll contribute to a forward-thinking, growth-focused insurance business that values initiative and ownership.

Responsibilities

• Develop and grow the Surety portfolio
• Build and strengthen broker relationships across the market
• Identify and secure new business opportunities
• Underwrite profitable risks within delegated authority
• Support the ongoing development and diversification of the portfolio

Key requirements

• 5+ years’ underwriting experience within Surety or a related class
• Strong technical underwriting and risk assessment skills
• Established broker relationships and strong market presence
• Commercial mindset with a track record of profitable underwriting
