Overview

In this Hospital Director role, you will lead the mobilisation and launch of a flagship neuro- and spinal rehabilitation hospital. You’ll shape the culture, governance, and operating model from the ground up, aiming for centre of excellence in complex rehabilitation. You will manage regulatory readiness, build a multidisciplinary team, and establish relationships with commissioners and partners. This position offers a chance to drive high-impact patient outcomes while scaling a new facility to long-term success.

Responsibilities

• Lead development, mobilisation and operational readiness of a brand-new rehabilitation hospital
• Establish regulatory, governance and operational frameworks for launch
• Manage regulatory registrations and ensure pre-opening compliance and inspection readiness
• Design and embed culture, leadership structure, operating model and clinical governance
• Build and lead a high-performing multidisciplinary workforce from scratch
• Create a positive, values-led culture from day one
• Develop strong national commissioner, stakeholder and referral relationships
• Position the hospital as a centre of excellence in neuro and spinal rehabilitation
• Drive quality, occupancy, patient outcomes and financial performance

Key requirements

• Previous experience as Hospital Director, Registered Manager or senior operational leader in complex healthcare
• Strong track record in independent healthcare, neuro/spinal rehabilitation or related fields
• Knowledge of regulatory frameworks, governance and compliance (e.g., CQC)
• Ability to build and inspire large multidisciplinary teams and foster values-led culture
• Commercial and financial acumen with responsibility for occupancy and budgets
• Experience leading transformation, mobilisation or large-scale change
• Brownfield healthcare project experience would be advantageous
• Experience/knowledge of private healthcare and insurance-funded pathways
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills with commissioners, clinicians, families, partners
