Overview
A well-established national law firm seeks a Team Leader in Employment Law in Cardiff. You will lead a team of employment fee earners while handling your own caseload, advising on Employment Tribunal claims, drafting pleadings and settlement documents, and ensuring high-quality client service. The role blends people leadership with hands-on practice, offering hybrid working and clear opportunities for progression. Responsibilities
- Supervise, develop and support the employment team
- Manage a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious work
- Advise on Employment Tribunal claims and case strategy
- Draft pleadings, witness statements and settlement documentation
- Provide telephone and written advice to commercial clients
- Ensure high-quality service delivery aligned with client expectations
- Contribute to team performance, workflow management and continuous improvement
- Support business development, legal updates and client training
- Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices
- Report to the Group Leader (Partner)
Key requirements
- Qualified solicitor (or equivalent)
- Experience supervising or managing a team
- Genuine passion for employment law
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence in taking responsibility for cases and team strategy
- Strong organisational skills and prioritisation
- Proactive, positive and collaborative approach
- Previous Employment Law experience desirable but not essential
