Chief Information Security Officer (CISO)

Overview

As CISO you will shape Blockchain.com’s global cybersecurity strategy to enable rapid product innovation while ensuring platform resilience and regulatory readiness for IPO. You’ll partner with Engineering, Product, Legal, Compliance and Finance to integrate security across the company and operations. You will lead security engineering, SOC and GRC teams, and oversee custody-related security and AI governance initiatives. This role offers impact at scale with exposure to executives and regulators, guiding risk management and enterprise security posture.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the global cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives and IPO readiness
• Lead and scale Security Engineering, SOC and Security GRC organizations
• Partner with executive leadership and internal audit on strategy, risk and regulatory readiness
• Strengthen cloud, application and infrastructure security across a global digital asset platform
• Drive incident response, vulnerability management and operational resilience
• Devise and implement AI governance & safety strategy
• Maintain and participate in custody systems operations
• Provide executive security assessments to Board, regulators and examiners
• Ensure compliance with SOC 1/2, ISO 2700, ISO 42001, DoRA, SOX and other regulatory requirements
• Embed security into the software development lifecycle while enabling engineering velocity

Key requirements

• Proven experience as a CISO or senior security executive in a high-growth tech or financial services company
• Experience leading security within a US public company or through an IPO with understanding of SOX and SEC cybersecurity requirements
• Deep technical experience in cryptocurrency, digital assets, blockchain or fintech
• Demonstrated success leading global Security Engineering & GRC teams
• Strong knowledge of cloud security (GCP and AWS), application security, incident response, IAM, and modern security architectures
• Operational experience with self-custody systems (including HSMs) and safeguarding funds
• Experience presenting to executive leadership, Boards and regulators
• Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills to balance security, innovation and growth
