Overview
In this role you will design and optimise FPGA-based SDR and RF systems within a cross-functional team at Lockheed Martin. You’ll use VHDL/Verilog and the OpenCPI framework to deliver mission-critical software-defined radio solutions for defence and cyber programmes. You’ll work across design, testing, and integration, applying modern tooling and agile practices to drive robust, high-performance systems. Responsibilities
- Develop and integrate DSP and SDR functions in VHDL as part of an OpenCPI application
- Design and integrate RF communication systems within a cross-functional team
- Engage in test-driven development, create test harnesses and simulations for verification
- Optimize OpenCPI-based systems for performance and reliability across hardware platforms
- Apply AI/ML tooling and hybrid cloud approaches to deliver innovative results
- Collaborate with peers, Delivery Managers and Technical Leads to ensure timely, fit-for-purpose solutions
Key requirements
- Experience using VHDL (or Verilog) for embedded applications
- Experience with RF communications and SDR technologies & architectures
- Knowledge of digital signal processing and embedded system design
- Competence in VHDL (or Verilog) for embedded contexts
- Security clearance eligibility for eDV (Enhanced Developed Vetting)
