Senior Mechanical Engineer

In this Senior Mechanical Engineer role, you will lead mechanical design work for mining and related infrastructure projects, ensuring high-quality technical outcomes. You will engage with mining clients, build strong relationships, and support project delivery from concept to execution. The position offers exposure to brownfield and greenfield assets across mining, renewable energy, and defense contexts, with site visits and cross-functional collaboration. You will contribute to delivering sustainable, safe, and efficient material handling and process solutions in a global firm. Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical design engineering for mining projects and feasibility studies, focusing on conveyors, crushing, screening, and bulk materials handling
• Consult with large mining clients and act as the focal point for relationships and technical delivery
• Deliver technical outcomes from project initiation through execution
• Support site-based project work with occasional day trips from Perth
• Demonstrate agility by joining projects on short notice and delivering high-quality outputs

Key requirements

• Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering with relevant consultancy or mining facility design experience
• Experience in design and specification of mining plant, materials handling, pumping systems, and piping
• Strong interpersonal and written/oral communication skills
• Experience producing engineering documentation (specs, datasheets, reports, scopes)
• Track record delivering projects from initiation to execution
• 7–15 years of relevant post-graduate experience
• Chartered Engineer or working towards (advantageous)
• Alumina and Gold industry experience advantageous
