Design Manager – Civil Engineering

Overview

In this role you will manage the design function for a major civil highways and infrastructure project, reporting to the Design Leader. You will ensure buildable design proposals, coordinate with statutory bodies, and drive the design deliverables program. You will lead gate reviews and the production of essential design data and documentation, while capturing learning and contributing to risk and value management across the project and business.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance on buildability of design proposals to design and construction teams
• Liaise with statutory bodies and authorities (planning, building control, services) as required
• Lead development and management of the design deliverables programme
• Ensure clear schedule of design deliverables
• Lead gate reviews to secure timely sign-off at project gates
• Coordinate and produce design data, reports, and documentation for contractual requirements and report progress
• Capture learning and best practice from bid/project for sharing across the business
• Contribute proactively to Risk and Value Management process
