Transactional Manager (Finance Operations Manager)

Overview

In this role you will lead the end-to-end finance operations across multiple entities, driving accuracy, efficiency and controls in AP, AR, billing and banking. You will manage a transactional finance team, push process improvements and automation, and partner with stakeholders to support rapid growth in a PE-backed, multi-site environment. You will influence month-end close, cash management and governance while delivering scalable, high-quality service. This is a hands-on role with clear impact on financial discipline and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day transactional finance function across AP, AR, billing and banking
• Ensure accurate, timely invoicing across entities and locations
• Oversee cash allocation, reconciliations and cash management
• Manage supplier payments and working capital processes
• Drive credit control and cash collection
• Support month-end close with accurate reconciliations
• Maintain robust controls and balance sheet integrity
• Identify and drive process improvements and automation in AP/AR/banking
• Lead finance systems enhancements and KPI reporting
• Develop and coach the transactional finance team
• Establish process standardisation and cross-training
• Support audit requirements and strengthen control environment
• Build relationships with finance and operational teams
• Champion best practices and finance transformation projects

Key requirements

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified
• Proven experience leading and developing transactional finance teams
• Strong understanding of AP, AR, billing, banking and financial controls
• Demonstrable experience improving finance processes and driving automation
• Strong systems and ERP experience
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident communicator across multiple stakeholder groups
