Logistics Engineering Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the design, development and implementation of internal logistics processes, delivery media and lineside presentation standards to ensure safe, efficient and measurable material flow from warehouse to production. You will work cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality to enable smooth launches and ongoing operational stability in a fast-paced automotive environment. You’ll shape future-state material handling and logistics concepts, delivering tangible improvements and supported by data-driven insights. This is a high-impact, leadership-focused position at the heart of Logistics Engineering and Manufacturing support.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and optimisation of internal logistics processes from warehouse through to lineside for safe, efficient part flow into production
• Define and implement lineside feed strategies to support manufacturing, reduce handling touches and improve part presentation
• Define and implement kitting strategies, sequencing principles and replenishment processes to support build requirements
• Adapt logistics processes, kitting methods, delivery frequencies and lineside standards in response to production changes and constraints
• Design and implement delivery media and carrying equipment to protect parts and support efficient production
• Ensure internal processes maintain part protection, ergonomic handling and safety across multiple warehouses to the production line
• Establish preservation standards to prevent damage or contamination during internal movement
• Develop standard operating procedures, layouts and work instructions to improve control, safety and repeatability
• Apply lean principles to remove waste and optimise flow toward a practical one-touch logistics approach
• Collaborate with Packaging, Warehouse and Material Planning teams to align inbound packaging with internal delivery media

Key requirements

• Degree-level education, or equivalent relevant experience in Industrial/Logistics/Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline (as stated)
• Minimum of five years’ experience in logistics engineering or related fields within automotive/manufacturing
• Experience designing and implementing internal logistics processes, delivery media, lineside layouts and at-use presentation solutions
• Proven record of launching new models or managing changes with effective logistics engineering solutions
• Proven track record of leading process improvement initiatives and delivering measurable benefits
• Experience leading teams, projects or cross-functional improvement activities
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, logistics engineering and material flow principles; Six Sigma certification advantageous
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Confident in data analysis and using performance data to drive decisions
• Strong project management, stakeholder influence and communication skills
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems and ERP software; process mapping tools
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
