Senior Structural Engineer, Manchester

Overview

Senior Structural Engineer role in a Manchester-based building services and engineering practice. You drive projects from concept through construction support, leading schemes and mentoring engineers. You will work with Tekla, Revit Structure and Tedds, delivering robust designs across steel, reinforced concrete and timber. The role emphasizes engineering judgement, client and contractor liaison, and running complex projects within the North West market.

Responsibilities

• Design structural solutions across steel, reinforced concrete and timber
• Lead schemes from concept to delivery, including feasibility, detailing and construction support
• Exercise strong project-running judgement and manage clients and contractors
• Develop and mentor junior engineers within the team
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams in a Manchester-based practice
• Contribute to projects across WELL, commercial, civic and education sectors
• Utilise Tekla, Revit Structure and Tedds (or similar) for analysis and modelling

Key requirements

• Chartered status or close to it (UK consultancy experience)
• Strong UK consultancy experience and project-running capability
• Ability to carry a scheme from concept through to delivery
• Experience engaging with clients and contractors without escalation
• Proficiency with Tekla, Revit Structure and Tedds or similar
• Based in Manchester or willing to be on-site full time
