Quality Engineer – Aerospace Manufacturing

Overview

In this Quality Engineer role, you will support the aerospace quality system development and maintenance, driving process improvements and regulatory compliance. You will work within a collaborative team to apply quality tools and manage audits and documentation. You’ll tackle product, process, and system quality issues and contribute to design reviews and new product introductions. This role offers hands-on influence in sustaining approvals like ISO 9001, AS9100, and EASA within a dynamic engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply quality engineering tools (SPC, Gauge R&R, FMEA, Six Sigma, control plans)
• Coordinate regular quality reviews and present KPIs to management
• Investigate quality issues across product, process and system with stakeholders
• Participate in product recalls as required by regulators or customers
• Contribute to design reviews and new product introduction activities
• Compile and control quality documentation
• Support training and maintenance of certifying staff and self-certification programs
• Complete audits per the scheduled plan
• Support maintenance and progression of company approvals (ISO 9001, EASA Part 21, AS9100)

Key requirements

• Experience in quality engineering in engineering, manufacturing or aerospace
• Engineering degree, HNC or equivalent practical experience
• Knowledge of aerospace regulatory requirements (EASA, AS9100) advantageous
• Experience with PFMEA and 8D investigations
• Understanding of quality improvement methods, audits and root cause analysis
• Audit training, Lead Auditor level preferred
• Strong IT skills (Excel, Word, Access) and business systems
• Clear, confident written and verbal communication
