Fire Engineer

Overview

As a Fire Engineer at Arup, you contribute to high-impact fire safety projects across diverse teams. You will apply fire science within the engineering process and develop integrated fire strategies alongside design colleagues. Responsibilities

• Apply fire science principles to real projects through the engineering process
• Develop and implement fire strategies with the design team and stakeholders
• Interpret and apply UK fire safety legislation and design guidance
• Deliver Total Fire Safety from client brief through construction
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to pre-empt fire safety issues across project stages
• Pursue Chartered Engineer status or support advancement towards it

Key requirements

• Qualification in a relevant subject (fire engineering, other engineering, or architecture-related)
• Experience in a fire engineering consultancy or similar environment
• Knowledge of UK legislation and guidance relevant to fire safety
• Excellent report writing and communication skills; collaborative and engaging
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Proactivity in problem-solving and coordinating with others
• Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship not offered)
