Network Engineer

Overview

In this role you will design and support network systems for a defence-focused organisation. You will work within a cross-functional team to implement, configure, and maintain Juniper-based networks while addressing complex issues. You’ll contribute to project delivery, share knowledge, and help drive continuous improvement in a structured IT environment. Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve technical issues across existing networks and systems
• Support multiple projects and ensure timely delivery of technical outputs
• Implement and configure new systems and solutions
• Collaborate with project managers and technical leads to deliver quality outputs
• Assist with system implementations and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
• Develop processes and support the team by sharing knowledge and providing practical solutions
• Maintain high standards of professionalism in a structured IT environment

Key requirements

• Hands-on experience in networking, IT, and communications
• Prior experience as a network engineer within an IT department
• Experience in supporting Juniper SRX-based networks, including cyber patches and issue investigations
• Understanding of Microsoft, Windows, Linux, or coding environments is advantageous
• Ability to investigate problems and provide solutions to complex network issues
• Degree in engineering or equivalent IT-related experience
