Overview
In this role, you will lead regulatory reporting and AML/MLRO controls for an international bank in London. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure FCA, BoE, HMRC, FATCA/CRS compliance and effective anti‑money laundering measures. You drive policy implementation, risk assessments, and staff training to prevent financial crime. This position offers UK‑based work with a strong emphasis on bilingual communication and regulatory liaison, delivering compliant, commercially viable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit regulatory returns (FCA, BoE, HMRC, FATCA/CRS) for the bank
- Establish and maintain AML controls and procedures; conduct AML risk assessments
- Engage with law enforcement and regulators, file NCA Suspicious Activity Reports
- Develop and update compliance policies, procedures, and controls; perform targeted testing
- Provide training and guidance to staff on AML and compliance matters
- Oversee regulator systems/controls to prevent misuse for financial crime
- Receive and evaluate suspicious activity reports; determine actions and escalate as needed
- Coordinate with relevant personnel to ensure continued lawful transactions with regulator consent when required
- Ensure timely regulatory filings and ongoing compliance with regulatory obligations
- Communicate regulatory requirements clearly to stakeholders and ensure awareness across the bank
Key requirements
- Fluent in Chinese and English
- Solid compliance management and MLRO experience across financial markets regulatory obligations
- Excellent relationship and communication skills
- Ability to update, implement, and test compliance policies and controls; manage regulatory filings
