Associate or Solicitor – Personal Injury, EL/PL

Overview

In this role you will support senior Partners on high-value, complex personal injury matters, gaining exposure to EL/PL and Motor claims across Scotland. You will shape case strategies, conduct investigations, and coordinate with Counsel while building client relationships. The position offers hybrid working, collaboration, and opportunities to mentor junior team members as you develop technical and commercial expertise. You will contribute to delivering strategic case handling and measurable outcomes for diverse caseloads in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage and progress a caseload efficiently and proactively
• Handle litigated EL/PL and Motor claims in Scottish courts under supervision
• Apply strong technical knowledge of litigation, case law and principles
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients
• Ensure delivery against SLAs and best practice standards
• Support and take ownership on complex, high-value cases
• Continuously develop technical and commercial expertise
• Coach and mentor junior team members

Key requirements

• Experience managing own or assisting with a litigated personal injury caseload
• Background in EL/PL and Motor claims
• Insurance litigation experience (essential)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Confident communicator with solid negotiation ability
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
