Associate Director, Cost Management – Healthcare

Overview

In this role you drive healthcare cost management across refurbishment, fit-out and new build projects in the South West region. You will lead client engagements, deliver full cost management services from feasibility to final accounts, and mentor teams to support growth for Gleeds in a global, ambitious firm. You’ll work closely with public sector healthcare clients, shaping cost strategies and procurement approaches to improve project value. Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to grow and maintain relationships
• Deliver high-quality cost management services aligned with client requirements
• Prepare cost estimates, option studies, and cost plans
• Manage procurement, tendering, evaluation, and reporting
• Conduct cost-in-use studies and value completed work
• Act as contract administrator or employer’s agent with technical/legal guidance
• Present reports to customers and stakeholders
• Mentor and coach team members to reach full potential
• Identify new business opportunities and contribute to service delivery bids

Key requirements

• MRICS qualification
• Cost estimating and planning experience
• Knowledge of construction methods and materials
• Experience with procurement strategies, tendering, and contract strategies
• Post-contract cost management experience
• Strong written and oral communication
• Organisational and adaptability skills
• Excellent numeracy and financial management skills
• ICT proficiency (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Team player with ability to absorb complex information and understand building contracts legislation
