Overview
In this role you support a national law firm’s Property & Affairs unit in Bristol by managing Court of Protection matters for vulnerable clients. You work within a collaborative team to handle deputyship work, prepare applications, and advise deputies and families on financial and property issues. The position focuses on delivering careful, client-centred service while ensuring regulatory compliance and accurate documentation. You will contribute to a supportive culture that prioritizes growth and expert handling of complex guardianship matters. Responsibilities
- Manage a varied caseload of Court of Protection Property & Affairs matters including deputyship applications and ongoing management
- Advise deputies, attorneys and family on financial and property matters
- Prepare and submit Court of Protection applications
- Draft reports, witness statements and supporting documentation
- Manage client finances, budgeting, investments and property transactions
- Liaise with the Office of the Public Guardian, local authorities and third parties
- Ensure compliance with court orders and regulatory requirements
- Support a collaborative and client-focused team culture
Key requirements
- 2+ years’ PQE with Court of Protection Property & Affairs experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Court of Protection procedures
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
