Senior Manager, Security Architect, Cyber, Defence & Security (Government and Public Sector)

Overview

In this role you design and govern technical security solutions as a senior member of the team, aligning with clients’ policy frameworks and business objectives. You lead technical engagement, collaborate with security SMEs, and translate complex security designs for stakeholders. You’ll shape architecture patterns, assess risks, and stay ahead of threats with industry best practices. Responsibilities

• Understand client security landscapes and define architecture vision and principles
• Articulate design decisions to non-technical stakeholders
• Maintain relationships with senior technical stakeholders
• Learn and advocate new security solutions through architecture patterns
• Collaborate with vendors and partners to secure external systems and data exchanges
• Provide specialist security advice and identify controls meeting business objectives
• Develop and maintain security architectures aligned with goals, standards and regulatory requirements
• Stay updated on threats, technologies, and best practices and propose improvements
• Conduct security audits, risk assessments, and identify remediation actions

Key requirements

• Information Security qualification (or equivalent) e.g. CISSP
• In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, standards and best practices (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS)
• Experience as a Security Architect or similar role with leadership of technical teams
• TOGAF or SABSA architecture methodology experience
• Threat and risk modelling experience
• Strong understanding of network security, encryption, authentication, and access control
• Experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, vulnerability tools and configurations
• Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure or Google)
• Experience in DevSecOps and automated deployment/CI-CD pipelines
• Experience with Government organisations and handling of assets under Government policy
• Knowledge of Government cyber requirements (e.g., Secure by Design, JSP 440)
• SC or DV security clearance eligibility or active clearance
• Experience with government security classifications and related policies
