Overview
In this role you will lead the UK office for an offshore engineering consultancy, driving growth in the energy sector. You will blend business development with strategic leadership to expand client relationships and win major projects. You will represent the company in high-level meetings, shaping commercial direction and coordinating cross-functional teams. This is a high-visibility role that combines technical understanding with sales leadership to scale engineering services for heavy civil and marine installations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the UK office and set strategic direction for growth in offshore/marine markets
- Drive business development and key client pursuits in offshore energy projects
- Develop and implement sales and commercial strategies
- Manage client communications, proposals, and presentations
- Coordinate with civil/structural engineering teams on large installation projects (T&I)
- Represent the company in negotiations with certification bodies and project partners (as applicable)
Key requirements
- Mechanical/Structural/Civil engineering degree (BEng or MEng)
- Marine/offshore engineering sales experience
- Experience in O&G/ wind turbine transport & installation (T&I)
- Knowledge of equipment for installation/transportation of large structures (e.g., jackets, monopiles)
- Excellent written and oral communication; client-facing skills
- Strong networking within the energy sector (advantage)
- Engineering management/business development experience (advantage)
- Experience with certification bodies (DNV-GL, Lloyd’s Register, BV) (advantage)
