Overview
In this role you will design, develop and implement control solutions for power generation and distribution, programming PLCs and HMIs, and tuning controllers for efficiency and stability. You will support commissioning and testing on-site and in-house, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver safe, reliable energy solutions. You’ll work in a fast-paced environment focused on performance and protection of critical assets. This is a hands-on role with a clear impact on system reliability and customer outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop and implement control system solutions for power generation and distribution projects
- Program and configure PLCs, develop HMIs, and configure control and monitoring systems
- Configure protection settings and systems, including protection relays
- Assist in tuning controllers to optimise performance, fuel efficiency, power quality and transient response
- Support commissioning and testing of control and protection systems on-site and in-house
- Prepare technical documentation (specifications, design reports, test procedures) and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Control Systems Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Proven experience in controls and protection systems engineering within power generation and distribution
- Strong technical skills in designing, programming and operating control systems (PLCs and HMI)
- Hands-on experience with generator-specific controllers, ECUs, digital AVR, and protection configurations for distribution assets
- Experience in protection relay settings and configurations
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills with strong communication and teamwork
