Financial Crime Compliance Quality Assurance Lead (VP)

Overview

In this role you will lead MUFG’s global FCC QA approach from London, shaping standards that span ABC, AML, KYC and Sanctions. You collaborates with regional teams and senior leaders to embed robust QA practices and governance across regions. You will drive continuous improvement, training, and risk monitoring, elevating the bank’s compliance maturity and safeguarding integrity. Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of global FCC QA methodologies and minimum standards across regions
• Oversee delivery of QA outputs to global expectations with accuracy and completeness
• Prepare governance materials and management information for senior leadership
• Provide expert guidance on complex compliance issues and deliver training to affected teams
• Escalate risks and issues, and monitor progress against objectives
• Drive alignment and harmonisation of QA processes across business units
• Mentor junior colleagues and foster a collaborative, high-conduct culture
• Identify opportunities to strengthen internal controls and QA operating model

Key requirements

• Significant experience in financial services compliance within large international organisations
• Proven track record leading FCC QA or controls oversight in banking or financial crime environments
• Advanced understanding of QA concepts (sampling, testing, MI reporting, governance)
• Thorough knowledge of AML/KYC/Sanctions risk management
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel/Word/365 for data analysis and reporting
• Strong written and verbal communication, with ability to interact with senior leaders and SMEs
• Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and maintain focus on long-term objectives
• Willingness to engage in continuous learning and uphold MUFG values of integrity and inclusivity
• Preferred: certifications such as CQP MCQI/CIA/CMIIA/ICA Diploma in AML/CAMS; degree in finance/accounting/business
