Technology Risk and Resilience Manager

Overview

In this role you will influence technology risk, cyber security, and operational resilience across major financial institutions. You will act as a technical authority, guiding risk assessments of transformation programmes and third‑party arrangements, and challenging senior stakeholders on risk posture. You’ll assess resilience and security of technology services during disruptions and cloud migrations, translating complex issues into actionable risk insights. Responsibilities

• Serve as a recognised technical authority across technology, cyber, cloud, infrastructure, AI and third‑party risk
• Lead assurance reviews of technology transformation programmes, outsourcing, and critical third‑party relationships
• Assess resilience and security of technology services against severe disruption scenarios (including cyber incidents)
• Review cloud strategies, migration programmes, and related operational resilience risks
• Provide challenge and guidance on technology risk management and resilience capabilities
• Identify emerging systemic technology and operational resilience risks in financial services
• Support development of risk assessment methodologies and assurance frameworks
• Produce high‑quality reports and present findings to senior decision‑makers
• Represent the organisation in industry forums and resilience initiatives
• Influence policy development through technical expertise and thought leadership

Key requirements

• Significant experience in technology risk, cyber risk, operational resilience, outsourcing risk or technology assurance
• Knowledge of SS2/21 and SS1/21
• Strong understanding of risk management practices including prevention, response and recovery
• Experience reviewing cloud environments and transformation programmes (AWS, Azure or similar)
• Knowledge of operational resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks
• Understanding of third‑party risk management and supplier resilience
• Ability to assess complex tech environments and judge emerging risks
• Experience engaging with senior technical and business stakeholders up to executive level
• Strong report writing, communication and presentation skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences
• Proven experience leading complex reviews or assurance activities
