Associate – Retail Leasing

Overview

In this role you will advise landlords and occupiers to optimise retail leasing across prime high street and mixed-use schemes. You will work within a collaborative Retail Leasing team on complex instructions, supporting valuation and feasibility as needed. You’ll build strong relationships with landlords, retailers, and advisers, and contribute to asset strategies and market positioning. This opportunity offers early responsibility, client exposure, and clear progression within a growing firm.

Responsibilities

• Managing retail leasing instructions across prime high street and mixed-use assets
• Undertaking occupier canvassing, inspections, viewings and negotiations
• Preparing and agreeing Heads of Terms and supporting transactions through to completion
• Advising on rental values, tenant demand and market positioning
• Providing strategic leasing advice aligned to asset business plans and tenant mix strategies
• Building and maintaining relationships with landlords, retailers, asset managers and professional advisers
• Tracking retailer movements, expansion plans and wider market trends
• Supporting valuation, investment and feasibility work where leasing insight is required
• Representing the business at industry events and pitches
• Identifying opportunities for repeat instructions and cross-collaboration across the wider firm

Key requirements

• MRICS Qualified
• Experience across retail leasing, capital markets and asset management
• Strong understanding of retail leasing structures and occupier requirements
• Confident negotiator with experience drafting and agreeing Heads of Terms
• Comfortable operating in a client-facing, advisory-led role
• Commercially minded, well organised and proactive, with strong attention to detail
