Associate Director – Project Controls – Nuclear

Overview

In this role, you will provide assurance, governance and oversight for the Transformation Portfolio at Sizewell C, embedding PMO standards and delivering robust reporting to support informed decisions. You will support the Transformation Portfolio Manager, manage RAID and the integrated Transformation plan, monitor stage gates, and coordinate portfolio communications and risks. You’ll work cross-functionally to identify interdependencies and keep the programme on track for a major nuclear new build that supports the UK’s net zero agenda.

Responsibilities

• Support the Transformation Portfolio Manager with PMO activities (RAID, reporting, integrated Transformation plan)
• Validate programme and project plans and maintain centralized visibility and escalation
• Monitor and confirm stage gates and milestones across strategic projects
• Manage portfolio-level reporting and updates to the transformation SteerCo; escalate risks/issues
• Oversee interdependencies across the transformation portfolio and flag potential conflicts
• Manage the monthly portfolio dashboard and support stakeholder engagement and ad-hoc reporting

Key requirements

• Degree‑educated with foundations in project and portfolio management methodologies
• Proven PMO leadership with governance and assurance across complex portfolios
• Strong planning, RAID management and change control across interdependent initiatives
• Excellent communication and influencing skills; professional project management certification desirable
