Overview

As a Firmware Architect at Thales ISR UK, you will lead the development and integration of firmware for complex, safety-critical electronic warfare systems. You’ll work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver on time, cost, and quality targets while shaping verification and design practices. The role emphasizes collaboration with internal and external stakeholders and requires secure clearance due to our defence context. Responsibilities

• Lead firmware development and deliver firmware projects to agreed time, cost and quality
• Verify firmware using Hardware Verification Languages or Hardware Description Languages
• Design firmware using Hardware Description Languages
• Enhancement of firmware related processes (documenting, scripting, reporting, process automation)
• Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams

Key requirements

• Demonstrable experience of firmware within safety-critical environments
• Experience interfacing with external customers and internal stakeholders
• Held responsibility for firmware development within complex systems
• Strong communications, verbally and in writing
• Relevant degree (BEng, MEng, EngD, PhD) and professional engineering body status preferably chartered
