As a Senior Fire Protection Engineer at AECOM, you will lead fire protection design across projects, delivering safe and compliant fire safety solutions. You’ll act as a key technical contact, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and support project delivery from surveys to reports. This role sits within our Buildings & Places practice, contributing to iconic structures and complex schemes. Responsibilities

• Lead FP design on projects and support the lead FP engineer on complex schemes
• Prepare design packages for RIBA stages (drawings, specifications, reports, hydraulic calculations)
• Create Fire Suppression System solutions for multiple applications across design stages
• Perform sprinkler water supply and gaseous suppression calculations
• Support remote project-delivery teams
• Conduct technical reviews and assist in resolving design issues
• Perform field investigations or inspections
• Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, authorities, contractors and stakeholders
• Support project manager on varying scale projects with technical assurance

Key requirements

• Relevant engineering degree or professional qualification
• Experience in consultancy or related industries
• Knowledge of British & International standards and Building Regulations
• Experience with Fire Suppression Systems (Sprinklers, Water Mist, Gaseous Suppression, Risers, Hydrants, Hose Reels, Hypoxic Systems)
• Software proficiency (Word, Excel, CAD, Revit, hydraulic tools)
• Evidence of CPD and professional development
• BEng, MEng or working towards it
• Engineering Council registration (CEng/IEng) or working towards it
