Python Engineer- London

Overview

In this role you will join a high-profile trading desk to build and support automated trading tools and data-driven workflows. You’ll work closely with traders to develop analytics, risk, and portfolio tools that power ETF pricing and market-making across exchanges. The position blends cutting-edge tech with finance, offering exposure to scalable, low-latency systems and data science applications. You will thrive in a tech-focused, open-culture environment where impactful engineering directly influences trading performance.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain tools to analyze data patterns and support portfolio construction and risk management
• Develop trading systems, rapid application development, and trading algorithms
• Price and break down ETFs and support market-making activities across multiple exchanges
• Provide financial and operational support to the trading desk and collaborate with traders and support staff
• Work on data-driven features and tools to improve latency, reliability and performance
• Support Linux-based development and deployment, and contribute to a data science workflow

Key requirements

• Python with standard data processing libraries: sklearn, NumPy, pandas
• Web development experience: Nginx, Flask, JavaScript
• PostgreSQL
• Linux experience
• Interest in data science
• Experience working in a Linux environment
• 2:1 STEM degree from a redbrick university
