Overview
In this role you will design, implement, and oversee Wise’s global compliance frameworks for ABC, GEH, and conflicts of interest, aligning with local regulations across jurisdictions. You will lead risk assessment, governance reporting, and third-party due diligence while partnering with regional compliance teams. The role involves building scalable, automation-first processes and driving cross-functional initiatives to support Wise’s growth and mission of borderless money. You will shape policies, run investigations, and promote an ethical, accountable governance culture across the business.

Responsibilities
- Own the global ABC, GEH, and conflicts of interest frameworks and controls across jurisdictions
- Manage global conflict of interest registry and policy socialisation
- Lead Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment and governance reporting for Board and Senior Management
- Oversee third-party risk and due diligence, including red flag reviews and mitigation actions
- Coordinate individual accountability regimes and regulatory conduct initiatives across regions
- Oversee policy breach investigations with root-cause analysis
- Provide horizon scanning and monitoring for consumer protection and payment transparency
- Drive automation and tech solutions to replace manual compliance tracking
- Collaborate with People, Compliance Learning, Third Party Risk Management and other stakeholders to embed initiatives
- End-to-end project ownership for new workflows, disclosures, and compliance metrics
Key requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Financial Crime Compliance, Regulatory Compliance or Governance
- Deep understanding of UK Bribery Act, US FCPA, and global conflicts of interest standards
- Knowledge of individual accountability regimes (e.g., SMCR) and retail consumer protection legislation
- Operational mindset with ability to build processes and automated workflows
- Strong drafting and communication skills with ability to explain regulatory concepts clearly
- Analytical mindset with ability to diagnose root causes and implement fixes
- Collaborative, proactive, and able to work across regions and functions
