Sr. Software Engineer – Surface Engineering (Hybrid)

Overview

As a Sr. Cloud Software Engineer you will help build globally distributed, fault-tolerant cloud ecosystems using Go and Python within the Falcon Surface team. You’ll work on backend microservices to detect targeted attacks and secure internet-facing assets across environments. The role blends hands-on coding with cross-team collaboration, a focus on quality, and continuous learning. Responsibilities

• Enhance backend microservices from research to implementation
• Leverage CrowdStrike tools to build cloud-based systems for threat detection
• Collaborate across multiple teams to define, build, and lead initiatives
• Pursue continuous learning and improvement
• Address customer needs and usage challenges
• Prioritize code quality with testing, logging, and metrics
• Participate in an Agile, small, fast-moving team
• Mentor developers on web, backend, and data storage technologies

Key requirements

• 5+ years of production experience in building and scaling systems
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Understanding of scalability, distributed systems concepts
• Strong engineering practices including testing, peer reviews, and resilient design
• Ability to work in a test-driven, collaborative environment
• Commitment to delivering high-quality software with CI
• Willingness to learn and ramp up on new technologies
