Overview

As a Civil Engineer in AECOM’s Water team, you will contribute to high-profile water and wastewater projects in the UK and internationally. You’ll work with multidisciplinary experts to develop feasible, safe, and buildable solutions from feasibility to detailed design. Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers, hydraulic modellers, environmental scientists and specialists to deliver solutions
  • Conduct technical and feasibility studies for potable, foul, surface water and attenuation needs
  • Participate in all design stages from feasibility to detailed designs and prepare reports and specifications
  • Perform numerical analyses to evaluate water and wastewater systems
  • Design water infrastructure (treatment plants, pump systems, pipe networks) with safety in design and produce working drawings
  • Gain on-site experience through site visits and project implementation
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to development training

Key requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent
  • Proven experience in the water sector within a consultancy
  • Experience with engineering assessments, options appraisals, calculations and/or economic appraisal
  • Working towards chartership or incorporated status (e.g., ICE, CIWEM)
  • Experience in outline or detailed design, preferably for water/wastewater or flood risk and drainage schemes
