Senior Project Controls Manager

Overview

In this role you will lead the project controls service for major energy infrastructure projects, delivering robust reporting, EVM, and critical path analysis to enable on‑time, within‑budget delivery. You will work with client and contractor teams to set up and continuously improve PMO and controls frameworks, while mentoring and developing teams across cost, schedule, and risk. The position contributes to decarbonisation of the energy network and supports safe, high‑quality delivery. This is a growth role with a focus on stakeholder engagement and strategic improvement.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive project controls service including reporting, earned value management, cost and schedule variance, estimates at completion, and critical path analysis for major projects
• Set up and develop PMO and project controls frameworks and drive continuous improvement of controls operations
• Manage teams across cost, schedule, risk and reporting, contributing to long-term strategic improvements
• Mentor teams, promote knowledge sharing, and support resourcing and recruitment for the commission
• Ensure safe, high‑quality, compliant delivery while promoting inclusion and wellbeing

Key requirements

• Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development
• Degree qualified with seven years’ relevant experience in linear infrastructure delivery
• Strong infrastructure project and programme delivery experience
• Proven commercial acumen and senior stakeholder management
• Experienced leader with sustainability and carbon awareness
