Overview
In this role you will support the Public Equity team at a London-based family office, contributing to research-driven portfolio insights within an Absolute Return framework. You will report to Senior Investment Managers and the Chief Investment Officer, helping monitor and report on the public equity portfolio across developed markets. The position offers exposure to cross-asset collaboration and stakeholder-facing updates, with potential progression into broader portfolio responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed qualitative and quantitative research on companies and sectors
- Provide quarterly market commentary by sector and geography with actionable recommendations
- Oversee quarterly valuations of the portfolio
- Prepare monthly equity reports detailing portfolio movements and market commentary
- Prepare weekly IPO reports
- Present findings at Investment Committee meetings and semi-annual Trust meetings
- Liaise with segregated account managers and coordinate delivery of reporting
- Support initial focus on Public Equity management with progression to wider portfolio areas
Key requirements
- 4–6 years of relevant experience in family office, buy-side public equity, or research
- Strong technical knowledge of public market analysis
- Experience in public equity portfolio management or equivalent research role
- Ability to perform thorough research with risk assessment and mitigation understanding
- Clear and precise communication of ideas to stakeholders
- Proactive, team-oriented, and able to work in a small, focused environment
- Knowledge of public equity reporting, KPIs, and related analytics
- Desirable CFA Charterholder or Chartered Accountant background but not required
