Senior Software Engineer – UI Developer Tooling (Hybrid, London)

Overview

As a Senior UI Platform Engineer, you lead the design and build of CrowdStrike’s shared UI quality foundation for the next-gen front end. You shape how hundreds of UI engineers ship, test, and operate code by consolidating testing, release, observability, and tooling into a single internal platform. You’ll build testing frameworks, CI pipelines, and quality signals that power fast, reliable UI releases. You’ll leverage AI-assisted testing to improve efficiency and adoption across product teams. Responsibilities

• Lead the shared UI testing framework from unit tests to end-to-end and visual regression
• Design and run CI pipelines across GitLab CI and Jenkins to gate UI releases
• Deliver the UI Quality Score as a public signal integrating coverage, defects, tests, incidents, and dependency health
• Integrate automated dependency management, security testing, and AI-assisted test authorship into the paved road
• Collaborate with UI Developer Tooling, UI Release and Observability to present a unified platform
• Mentor engineers on testing practices and perform thoughtful code reviews
• Build quarantine and triage for flaky tests to minimize release blockers

Key requirements

• Built shared frameworks, tooling or platforms used by other engineers
• Strong Playwright experience for E2E testing; comfortable with Vitest or similar and visual regression
• Fluent in TypeScript, Vite, and modern frontend tooling
• Designed GitLab CI pipelines that are fast and reliable with clear failure signals
• Set engineering standards that autonomous teams adopt and can influence senior leaders
• Experience using AI to improve engineering workflows and decision-making
• Bonus: experience with Renovate, SAST/SCA, contract testing or metrics like DORA/SPACE
• Not all boxes need to be ticked; willingness to learn and adapt
