External Quality Auditor

Overview

As an External Quality Lead Auditor for QAN/QAR and related audits, you will drive compliance across the UK and internationally, supporting clients in maintaining high-quality and safe operations. You will conduct audits of manufacturing systems, assess conformity, and report on corrective actions, strengthening SGS’s reputation for excellence. You’ll work with cross-border schemes and hazardous area contexts, delivering robust audit outcomes. This role combines travel, technical rigor, and a strong customer-service ethos in a global certification environment.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct external audits for manufacturing auditing systems per BS EN IEC 80079-34 and relevant schemes (CCC, Korean, North American, etc.)
• Evaluate compliance against documented processes and identify nonconformities, risks and improvement opportunities
• Produce clear, accurate audit reports and verify effectiveness of corrective actions
• Maintain audit schedules, records, and documentation per accreditation requirements
• Champion customer service and quality culture while ensuring SGS policies and integrity standards

Key requirements

• Lead Auditor with minimum 2 years experience
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 and audit principles, techniques, and practices
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills
• High attention to detail, integrity, and ability to manage multiple audits
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively (UK and internationally)
