JavaScript Developer Angular – Tech for Good

Overview

In this role you will advance a real-time scheduling platform by re-architecting the frontend in Angular while ensuring scalable web and mobile access. You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team to shape frontend decisions, optimize data access, and contribute to backend exposure as needed. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position in a healthtech product that improves NHS efficiencies, hosted on AWS and accessible via web and mobile apps. You’ll mentor others and help set best practices in a pragmatic, Agile environment.

Responsibilities

• Re-architect and enhance the frontend in Angular for the real-time shift rota platform
• Develop frontend features and optimize SQL queries supporting the scheduling system
• Collaborate on REST APIs, real-time data flows, and CI/CD pipelines
• Contribute to technical discussions and guide best practices within a small team
• Mentor junior teammates and support cross-functional collaboration
• Engage with AWS-hosted architecture and mobile (iOS/Android) considerations

Key requirements

• JavaScript and modern Angular (Angular 21) experience
• Relational databases and SQL query writing
• Strong understanding of REST APIs and real-time systems
• CI/CD experience and Agile development practices
• Startup/SME experience with varied responsibilities
• Collaborative, pragmatic communication with mentoring mindset
• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Experience with Angular Ionic for mobile apps (nice to have)
• Some Java backend exposure
