Senior Engagement Consultant (South East)

Overview

In this role, you join WSP’s UK Engagement team to shape how major projects connect with communities. You will support public consultation and stakeholder engagement across infrastructure, water, health, energy, and environmental sectors. You’ll craft clear communications, gather feedback, and help projects reflect community input within regulatory and project constraints. It’s a collaborative, mentored role with high-profile projects that offer growth in communications and engagement expertise.

Responsibilities

• Explain project impacts to communities through clear communications
• Facilitate questions and feedback via published materials, events, and surveys
• Synthesize feedback from stakeholders to inform project development and reporting
• Support clients with engagement advice and materials (virtual consultation rooms, posters, banners, maps, events)
• Manage projects to meet timelines, budget, and resource needs

Key requirements

• Degree or comparable professional experience in a relevant field
• Experience in sectors such as roads, rail, utilities, water, environment, or energy
• Experience contributing to or leading engagement on multi-disciplinary projects
• Ability to mentor, support, or line-manage colleagues (valued)
• Knowledge of developing stakeholder engagement approaches and delivering consultations
• Ability to analyze qualitative or quantitative data and contribute to regulatory-compliant reporting
