Senior / Principal Mechanical Engineer – Leeds

Overview

In this role you provide technical leadership for mechanical building services design across a diverse project portfolio. You will manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring client requirements, schedules and standards are met. Collaborating in a multidisciplinary environment, you’ll deliver calculations, drawings, specifications and reports that drive engineering excellence. You will also support planning, client coordination and, where relevant, business development. Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems across multiple sectors; produce and review calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
• Manage multiple projects from concept to completion; coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders; monitor programme and quality of deliverables
• Utilise digital engineering tools (AutoCAD, Revit MEP, IES, NBS) to develop designs and models; contribute to efficient design processes
• Maintain strong client relationships; provide trusted technical advice; contribute to bid preparation and fee proposals; support project planning and resource coordination
• Mentor junior engineers; promote collaboration and knowledge sharing; drive technical excellence across project teams

Key requirements

• Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering; Chartered or working towards is preferred
• Proven experience delivering mechanical design on complex projects and leading technical work within multidisciplinary teams
• Experience with digital engineering tools and an understanding of sustainable design principles; strong communication and reporting skills
