Overview

As a senior member of the Engineering Design Management Team, you will oversee multi-discipline engineering resources to ensure design delivery aligns with the process, standards, and project requirements. You define the scope of work to guarantee safe, timely, and quality outcomes and lead design and engineering to meet technical specifications. You will contribute to design and safety reviews, manage contractors, and support bid responses, all within a regulated nuclear context. Responsibilities

• Develop technical solutions and governance of design deliverables
• Approve and review design documentation across all design phases
• Contribute to design and safety reviews and ensure compliance with safety legislation and standards
• Manage multi-discipline design teams and contractors to deliver on time, safely, and within cost
• Provide technical consultancy and define/scoped design work for safe execution
• Lead staff development and recruitment within the engineering team
• Support bid responses with engineering capability and substantiation
• Drive cost-effective technical solutions while maintaining quality and risk controls

Key requirements

• Senior experience in building services design delivery for nuclear projects
• Proven track record of delivering design solutions
• Understanding of design requirements to support nuclear safety cases
• Strong knowledge of safety legislation and statutory regulations
• Leadership of a technical team in a project delivery environment
• Experience managing subcontractors
• Full membership of a discipline-specific engineering institution
• UK driving licence
