Environmental Trials and Analysis Engineer

Overview

In this role you apply specialist technical knowledge to analyze complex systems and support data evaluation across lab and field trials. You will collaborate with customers on data gathering, platform integration and modal assessments, delivering high-quality results on time and within budget. You will conduct evaluations addressing shock, vibration and related issues, and develop test specifications aligned with safety and quality standards. You plan and deliver work packages while driving engineering improvements across the environmental/mechanical domain.

Responsibilities

• Apply specialist technical knowledge to complex systems and lead data evaluation activities
• Collaborate with customers on data gathering trials, assessments, platform integration and structural modal assessment
• Ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of high-quality results
• Conduct technical evaluations and investigations, including option evaluation and reporting with recommendations for shock/vibration problems
• Develop test specifications and execute vibration, shock and signal evaluation activities per standards
• Plan, deliver and monitor work packages; make engineering decisions within delegated authority
• Drive engineering capability improvements through methods and process development

Key requirements

• Strong technical background in environmental, mechanical or similar field
• Excellent investigative instinct and decision making attributes
• Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills
• High motivations and adaptability
• Experienced in analysing vehicle/missile operations in complex environments
• Instrumentation and signal processing experience helpful
• Vibration, shock and thermal analysis experience preferred
• Security clearance: British Citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship; BPSS checks required
