Manager, Indirect Tax, London

Overview

In this role you will help clients transform indirect tax through data-enabled solutions and Microsoft tech. You’ll work within EY’s Indirect Tax Transformation team in London, focusing on data services, analytics, and AI-enabled tax management. You will engage with multinational clients to optimise VAT processes, data governance, and ERP-related tax controls. Responsibilities

• Engage with clients to scope and deliver data-driven indirect tax solutions
• Lead or contribute to data analytics and process automation projects for tax use cases
• Assess client data using analytics tools and implement future-proof tax data solutions
• Advise on ERP VAT optimisation, controls, and data governance in a digital tax landscape
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior colleagues to drive project delivery
• Support AI journeys to improve risk management and reduce cash leakage
• Translate tax requirements into technical designs for analysts and developers

Key requirements

• Experience with data analytics and/or bespoke automation projects (tax/finance preferred)
• Ability to lead or support process automation initiatives including requirements, design, and reviews
• Practical, independent problem-solving mindset and solution design capability
• Ability to communicate complex requirements to tech and business stakeholders
• Experience with at least one of: Python Pandas, Azure Databricks, Alteryx, Microsoft Power Platform (PowerAutomate & PowerBI)
• Strong delivery culture with attention to detail
• Ability to work in teams and manage project workstreams
• Working knowledge of EU VAT and related tax principles (preferable)
