Overview

As an Investment Banking Associate, you will help clients raise capital and navigate mergers and other transactions, serving as a strategic advisor within Citi’s Institutional Banking team. You will support M&A execution, capital-raising efforts, and client development while mentoring analysts and upholding rigorous risk controls. This role blends advisory impact with hands-on deal execution in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to strengthen Citi’s investment banking franchise and client outcomes. This is a data‑driven, compliance‑minded role that shapes capital strategy at scale.

Responsibilities

• Assist in executing Citi’s Investment Banking activities
• Leverage prior IB or related experience to enhance M&A execution and capital raising
• Contribute to building Citi’s franchise
• Mentor analysts with guidance, information flow, and credit/exposure insights
• Assess risk and ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and Citi policies; escalate and address control issues

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related area; MBA preferred
• Experience evaluating corporate transactions and structures
• Experience creating financial analyses
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills
