Data Scientist

Overview

In this role you will design, develop and deploy ML and AI solutions to enhance risk scoring, compliance prediction and contractor analytics within a global supply chain tech environment. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models into production on AWS/Azure and drive data-driven decisions that improve safety, compliance and performance. The role offers exposure to NLP, LLMs and innovative AI capabilities, shaping how clients operate more safely and efficiently. You will work in a collaborative, Agile setting with a focus on delivering measurable business value.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy machine learning models for risk scoring and compliance prediction
• Build and deploy LLM-based solutions for text analytics and automated checks
• Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to productionise models in AWS/Azure
• Utilise Microsoft Fabric for data ingestion, transformation and feature engineering
• Implement model monitoring, retraining and performance optimisation
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions and communicate outcomes to non-technical stakeholders
• Stay up to date with AI/ML developments and contribute to innovative data-driven solutions
• Contribute to improving compliance, safety and business performance

Key requirements

• Proven commercial experience in Data Science and Machine Learning
• Strong Python and SQL skills
• Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch and Jupyter Notebooks
• Strong understanding of predictive modelling and ML techniques
• Experience with NLP and Large Language Models (LLMs)
• Familiarity with AWS services (S3, SageMaker, Lambda)
• Experience or knowledge of Microsoft Fabric
• Understanding of the ML model development and deployment lifecycle
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent communication skills with non-technical stakeholders
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or related discipline
