Senior Facultative Reinsurance Broker

Overview

In this role you will place complex facultative risks into Lloyd’s and international markets, shaping tailored reinsurance solutions for demanding clients. You will work closely with underwriters and internal stakeholders to drive growth of a core client portfolio in a lean, entrepreneurial London team. The position focuses on high‑impact placements across Property, Business Interruption and P&C lines, with emphasis on accuracy, governance, and strong market engagement. You’ll contribute to expanding the business while delivering top‑quality outcomes for cedants and reinsurers alike.

Responsibilities

• Handle complex facultative placements across Property, BI, P&C and Specialty lines
• Develop and maintain relationships with cedants, brokers and reinsurers
• Prepare and review placement slips, MRCs and supporting documentation
• Present detailed submissions to underwriters and ensure regulatory/governance compliance
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver timely, high‑quality client outcomes
• Support retention and growth of existing accounts and contribute to new business generation

Key requirements

• Senior experience in facultative reinsurance broking
• Strong knowledge of Lloyd’s and international markets
• Proven experience placing Property and/or broader P&C facultative risks
• Established relationships with key underwriters
• Confident communicator with negotiation and relationship management skills
• Solid analytical ability and high attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple placements and priorities
• Degree‑educated in Business, Finance, Insurance or related discipline (ideally)
