As a Senior Java Full Stack Engineer at BNY, you will define the enterprise Java full stack strategy and drive modernization across platforms. You will champion AI-driven development and oversee end-to-end delivery for backend and frontend work in a cross-functional team. The role focuses on secure, scalable, and reliable designs while advancing cloud, microservices, and API-led architectures. Responsibilities

• Define and execute enterprise Java full stack technology strategy aligned with transformation goals
• Champion AI-driven development practices (AI-assisted coding, automated testing, remediation, code quality)
• Drive modernization initiatives including cloud migration, microservices, event-driven architectures, API-led platforms
• Establish best practices for secure, scalable, resilient application design
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex platforms across backend and frontend technologies
• Ensure high-quality engineering outcomes using CI/CD, automation, and DevSecOps practices
• Lead large-scale programs focused on velocity, reliability, and cost efficiency
• Drive backlog prioritization, technical debt reduction, and vulnerability remediation

Key requirements

• Senior full stack engineer with Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or equivalent work experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Python, ML frameworks, and LLM/GenAI tooling
• Strong hands-on experience with AI Development tools like Claude CLI, Windsurf
• Solid understanding of the ML lifecycle; exposure to model risk or governance is a plus
• Strong Java development skills, including multi-threaded and mission-critical applications
• Strong exposure to frontend technologies such as React and Angular
• Ability to solve ambiguous problems with scalable, innovative solutions
• Clear communicator who can influence cross-functional partners
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills, able to engage effectively with engineers, architects, and executives
