Overview

In this Senior Mental Health Practitioner role, you will assess and manage residents’ mental health needs within Heathrow IRC. You will work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team to develop holistic care plans that address physical, social, and psychological factors. You will contribute to a nursing strategy, deliver evidence-based, non-judgemental care, and uphold safeguarding and professional boundaries. Responsibilities

  • Assess and manage patients’ mental health needs
  • Autonomously handle a caseload within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Develop holistic health care plans addressing physical, social, and psychological needs
  • Provide evidence-based, non-judgemental care and build therapeutic relationships
  • Contribute to nursing strategy and vision
  • Follow policies and procedures with safeguarding considerations
  • Engage in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care
  • Support learning and professional development within the team

Key requirements

  • NMC Registration
  • Current UK professional registration
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience with neurodiverse conditions (autism, ADHD) and related communication challenges
  • Experience working in multi-disciplinary environments
  • Desirable: experience in hospital, community, or prison settings
  • Vetting and security checks due to role in secure environment
