Senior Consultant or Manager, Identity & Access Management Engineer – Cyber – Defence & Security GPS

Overview

In this role you will design, implement and maintain IAM solutions for diverse client engagements, aligning access control with policy and regulatory requirements. You will work within the Technology & Transformation team to enable secure, compliant identity management across systems. You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams, handle audits and training, and stay ahead of security threats and best practices. This hybrid, client‑facing position offers hands‑on IAM work with clear impact on security and operations, with the chance to grow your expertise in cloud security and governance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain IAM solutions with system integrations
• Develop and enforce IAM policies and procedures
• Participate in access control and identity management activities
• Monitor and analyze IAM systems, investigate and resolve issues
• Participate in IAM audits and compliance activities
• Document IAM processes and procedures
• Develop and deliver IAM training and awareness programmes
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective IAM implementation and operation
• Stay updated on threats, technologies and best practices, and provide improvement recommendations
• Communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences

Key requirements

• Active UK Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance
• Certifications in IAM technologies such as CIAM or equivalent
• Experience with SAML, OAuth and OpenID Connect
• Practice securing cloud-based infrastructure and services
• Experience with Government organisations and handling assets under Government Security Classification Policy
• Secure by Design, JSP 440
• Hands-on technical experience with IAM, willingness to grow
