Overview

As Research Director, you will lead original research that fuels BCG’s global marketing campaigns on CEO challenges, AI, and related topics. You’ll manage end-to-end research programs, collaborate with thought leaders, external experts, and senior executives, and translate findings into influential content. You will help build BCG’s authority through rigorous analysis, data storytelling, and cross-functional collaboration. This role combines research leadership with editorial impact to inform executive audiences and strategic campaigns.

Responsibilities

  • Conceptualize, design, and execute high-impact research aligned with priority topics
  • Lead end-to-end research projects, coordinating resources and lifecycle from inception to publication
  • Collaborate with global thought leaders, BCG Institute, external experts, and senior executives to ensure relevance and impact
  • Produce insightful, evidence-based reports, articles, and multimedia content for executive audiences
  • Contribute to building BCG’s authority and thought leadership in business topics
  • Cultivate relationships across campaigns, marketing functions, and the business as an adviser, influencer and problem solver
  • Distill complex concepts into clear messages to advance campaign narratives
  • Maintain sharp editorial sensibilities; distill survey insights into narratives for leaders
  • Leverage data visualization to bring stories to life and inform content for CEO audiences
  • Operate within the BCG Content Studio under the Marketing & Communications umbrella

Key requirements

  • Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) preferred in a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in business research, editorial, or strategic consulting
  • Proven track record in conducting and publishing influential business research
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and executive leadership
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and storytelling skills
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary research projects
  • Strong strategic thinking with broad impact awareness
  • Mastery of contemporary digital research and publishing tools
  • Familiarity with data visualization techniques
  • AI fluency to enable efficiency across research and editorial processes
  • Strong communication and teaming skills
  • Relationship-building across internal and external stakeholders
