Implementation Manager

Overview

In this role you drive successful Benchling implementations for a diverse biotech clientele, from startups to large biopharma. You collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to translate R&D processes into scalable configurations and workflows. You’ll own end-to-end rollouts, from requirements to go-live, ensuring value realization and high-quality deployments. This position blends science, project leadership, and product expertise to accelerate customer impact and adoption.

Responsibilities

• Manage initial rollouts for new Benchling customers and expansion projects
• Own implementation success from kickoff to go-live with strong PM, science, and product knowledge
• Develop detailed project plans and coordinate deliverables for on-time, on-budget deployments
• Understand customer scientific workflows to align Benchling use with key business needs
• Lead requirements and design workshops, data modeling, configuration, test plans, and UAT; train users
• Act as trusted advisor, promoting Benchling Best Practices during implementation
• Document customer pain points and advocate for product changes internally
• Identify opportunities for account expansion post go-live

Key requirements

• MS or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Immunology, Bioinformatics, Biological Engineering or related field
• At least 2 years in a lab or R&D setting (antibody discovery, strain engineering, or process development)
• Software implementation experience, preferably SaaS
• Strong communication skills with ability to connect with scientists, IT leads, and executives
• Self-starter capable of thriving in a startup environment
• Curious, creative, tenacious; collaborative with customers and teammates
• Willingness to travel up to 25%
• Experience using Benchling preferred but not required
